focused. It has clarity, depth, coherence, which strongly support the

Rhetoric reflects a clear understanding of and directly
appeals to audience by using appropriate terminology and background
knowledge of the audience.
Writing is basically error free in terms of mechanics.
Grammar and mechanics help establish a sound scholarly argument and aid
the reader in following the writer’s logic.
The discussion demonstrates a clear and scholarly
understanding of subject matter.
Information is discussed with clear and accurate
definitions of unfamiliar terms and is thoroughly evaluated from all
possible perspectives.
References from an article are used in an effective way
to fully support the authenticity of the argument.
Conclusions clearly & accurately reflect &
evaluate multiple perspectives of an issue, while taking a clear stance.
Any evidence that may be contradictory to expected outcomes is used to
present a thorough evaluation of the issue.

errors. Working drafts must be clear and well composed and have no glaring
spelling or grammatical errors.
Dissertations
must be written in the format and style according APA and should never
assume the chair will be your editor. If you have writing challenges, get

Written Feedback on Chapter 1:
There
is one intent of chapter 1 in the major research project (we’ll call it
dissertation from now on, although these are standard style and format
instructions for all in-depth academic and business writing and research
requirements).
CHAPTER 1 IS UNIQUE TO THE WHOLE RESEARCH PIECE since it is
only to introduce the topic and plan out the project that it will create the
dissertation. General concerns about those who are not familiar with
dissertation writing.
Four
(4) questions that begin the in-depth research project or dissertation At a
minimum, you must CREATE A CLEAR
AND CONVINCING ARGUMENT that will answer these questions:
1.  What is a topic
or working title of YOUR proposed research?
2.  What is the
reason or justification of the research YOU would propose?
3.  How would YOU
propose YOUR research be conducted?
4.  What do YOU think
might be some outcomes, including filling a possible gap in the body of
knowledge by proposing a theory, which is the forte of the qualitative methods?
Along
with these questions, please consider the following additional instructions
related specifically to chapter 1:
1.  Do not draw
any conclusions in chapter 1 since you have no research to
report in this part of the study.
2.  Make no claim, state no
opinion, draw no inference, do not seek any solutions, make no statements that
suggest your bias or your thinking about the research.
3.  NEVER make a
statement that is not sourced; research is all that counts; student
opinions are not to appear in any part of this or any other chapter except
chapter 5.
4.  Use no language
that suggests what you are thinking (reveal no bias).
5.  Do not use
deterministic language in this chapter since as you are outlining what your
research is to be about, you should talk only in terms of what you attempting
to do, what your aims are, what your goals are and how it is intended to be
designed. Stay away from talking about what will be done, or how it
will prove something. You simply do not know what will happen in the
research since you have not yet conducted the research so you can only be
tentative and convey humility about the setup of the project. In this regard,
you have been trained in content classes to come up with immediate answers and
build essays that ask for your educated opinions in less than 20 pages. The
dissertation is unlike all classes and topics you have completed … your effort
is long term and may take 1 to 3 years to complete.
6.  Never talk to the
reader.
Do not tell the reader to do anything in your narrative. In other words, never
use the “you” word.
7.  Never refer to
yourself,
no personal pronouns. No I, no me, no us, no we. An organization is
referred to as it, not they or them. It is an entity and not a collection
of indefinite, you know, they.
8.  When you use the
word data, follow it with a plural verb. Data
are plural. Datum is singular.
9.  Use no
contractions; define acronyms the first time used.

CONCERNING CITATIONS, there are a few
things to remember:
Add the period after the in-text citation to
complete the sentence, not before the in-text citation.
Use italics for book and journal titles and
quotation marks for article titles.
Author cited within the text = Smith (2007).
Author not cited in the text = (Smith, 2007).
Include a page or paragraph number with all direct
quotations = (Smith, 2007, p. 32).
Place the period at the end of a sentence after
the citation, and do not use URL addresses for in-text citations.
Include a page number or paragraph number in the
in-text citation for a direct quotation.
If you have used multiple citations for
paraphrasing the same source in this paragraph, only cite once per
paragraph—at the end of the paraphrased material.
Eliminate the year for subsequent citations of the
same source in the same paragraph.
