Answer the following questions:
1)Summarize the key ideas behind each of the four lectures. What did you find most interesting? What did you find most confusing? (and why)
2)What are bow shocks and why are they important in astronomy? Did we in class (outside of this guest lecture) talk about anything that could produce bow shocks?
3)What are AGB stars? Why are they not in hydrostatic equilibrium? Explain the figures on slides #21 and #22 (I know they’re slightly crooked for some reason, but it should still be clear).
4)Is it easy or challenging to determine the structure of the Milky Way and why? What is the “LMC” and “SMC” and are they “globular clusters”? Explain.
5)How do you produce the brightest objects in the Universe? How do we know they truly are the “brightest”?
