This assignment will be worth 100 points and will focus on ethical principles and concepts as it relates to the impact of policing, courts, and corrections on the individual, society, and the community. Students will identify the role, function, and mission of at least one branch of the criminal justice system (law enforcement, courts, and/or corrections). Students will also use critical thinking skills to identify how changes in technology can or has affected the ethics of our criminal justice system and how it has or should have impacted criminal justice practices and policies.
(title page, four pages of content, and reference page) describing a case in which at least one branch of the criminal justice system (law enforcement, courts, or corrections) conducted ethics violation(s) that have severely impacted the lives of the defendants, victims, community, and/or society. Students must summarize the case and explain the ethics violation(s) that have taken place. The student must then identify the role, function, and mission of the branch that violated the code of ethics and explain how the violation is counterproductive to the mission, role, and vision of that particular branch (law enforcement, courts, corrections).
