In 5-7 pages, compose an argument similar to Essay 3. In this case, you want to change your audience. In Essay 3, your audience was one of the groups primarily involved with your topic. You wanted to convince them of an opinion or belief you have. 
In Essay 4, compose an argument about the same topic, but write it with a different audience in mind. The audience for this essay will be your classmates. 
You will need to think hard about what goal you have for your presentation. Stasis theory will be helpful here. Do you classmates need to be convinced this is an issue they should care about? Do they need to be convinced to think about it in a particular way? Or do you need to convince them about the best solution?
• New research will likely include sources that provide information/authorities that will be persuasive to the group you’re talking to
• Like in Project 3, you’ll use the sophisticated understanding you’ve developed of how to analyze an audience to compose an argument that’s going to address your particular perspective and be persuasive to them
• Analysis in Project 4 is all looking at the same basic research/information and decide what you want to focus on to persuade a different audience. In other words, you may decide to argue at a different level of stasis and use different information/focus on different points to make an argument this group cares about
◦ Your analysis will come in three forms:
▪ Your choice of information/ideas/sources that your audience will trust/respect
▪ Your claims/explanation of how the information/ideas/sources support your argument
▪ Your claims/explanation of how the argument you’re presenting connects to the values/concerns of the audience
A successful final project will:
• clearly describe the topic/purpose of the project;
• demonstrate purposeful rhetorical decisions in the organization and presentation style;
• integrate compelling examples from the work and research you completed this semester;
• account for the expectations of your intended audience (as specified in the prompt);
• have an organization claim or line or inquiry that guides audiences’ experience of the presentation;
• be 5-7 pages in length;
• utilize feedback to revise and polish the final presentation;
• be clear, organized, and edited.
