The student will choose one of two forms for her/his/their final project.
A. Scholarly Paper (10 written pages – bibliography and images extra): Topic and
methodology/approach to be discussed with instructor.
B. Creative Project in “practical aesthetics:” Project should have some level of public
impact relative to a location and/or community. Along with the project itself, the
student will write a descriptive overview of the project which includes objectives,
theological considerations, and a hindsight assessment of its impact—a blueprint of
how the project was executed and received (3-4 Pages). Creative Projects should be
documented with video or audio recording (professional quality is not expected). ***
The instructor requests that students consider projects (paper or practical) in which the
ideas and activities of worship are put into conversation with the conceptual world of
aesthetic experience by way of the course’s assigned readings and films.
