Directions: Students will research a current topic in the sports industry and write a report that dives deep into the various issues associated with that topic. This report should be research based with sources properly cited (APA format). The report will give an in-depth examination of the topic and how it fits into the larger sports business ecosystem both now and into the future.
Examples of topics can include but are not limited to… NIL, Pay equity, sexual harassment, pay equity, amateurism, mental health, etc. The report should be at least 10 pages in length with 10 or more properly cited sources.
Grading Criteria
Research Proposal: 25 points
Prior to beginning the report, students need to submit a 1 paragraph research proposal to the instructor that explains their topic and why they have chosen it for this assignment.
Writing mechanics: 25 points
Proper paper format (Header & title, Introduction, body, conclusion), grammar, spelling, word flow, etc.
Sources: 50 points
At least 10 sources properly cited within the report and a bibliography after the conclusion.
Content: 200 Points
