The purpose of this assignment is to get you oriented to reading peer-reviewed literature and to critically analyze what you are reading. The articles and subject you choose must be related to a nursing practice theory as outlined in your text or other readings. There must be three (3) peer-reviewed scholarly articles in this assignment. Webpages and non-peer reviewed sources are not acceptable.
First, decide on a nursing practice theorist/theory who’s work you would like to learn more about. Once you decide on the theory, begin searching for current peer-reviewed articles related to your proposed research topic. You will want to decide on some key terms. For example, studying baby bottle tooth decay in migrant farm workers children and have learned that the Leininger’s theory of Cultural care and diversity is relevant. Some key terms to use would be Leininger, tooth decay, culture, farm workers, children. From this list I will start, but may need to add, delete, or change around to get results. Also, set your search to 5 years (2018 to 2024) and peer-reviewed. This ensures the information I get is relevant and timely today.
Once you trim your search to articles on your selected nursing practice theory, read them, analyze them and take notes. Then, after reading each article, select three to begin the annotation process. Assignment directions:
Ensure the articles are peer-reviewed, and within the last 5 years from today.
Write out the summary of each article to include a minimum of 300 words per annotation. There is no use of citations in-text for an annotated bibliography. AND, there is no use of direct quotes. This is a summary, so you are expected to use your own words. Ensure there is no plagiarism.
Follow the attached example and template using appropriate APA 7th edition guidelines.
All annotated bibliographies will be formatted in APA 7th edition. APA does not have a specific style for an annotated bibliography. Remember to complete 3 for your assignment all in one document.
