This reflection will connect us back to the beginning of our journey together – when we started talking about self-concept.
A
unique exercise involving self-concept is when someone must profile
themselves in a medium that is available for others to see. Look for an
opportunity that you have had to profile yourself and take some time to
analyze what you have written. It could be a Facebook profile, a
LinkedIn, an online resume, or even an old MySpace profile (these are
the most fun if you are old enough to have had one). Consider also how
you made choices based on the medium: a resume will require highlighting
different parts of your identity than your private Instagram profile.
Look
at how you managed/manage your identity in that medium, and if you
believe it accurately reflects your self concept. Was there a specific
reason this quote was used and not that one, this detail and not that
one? Was making this profile a long undertaking? Have you continuously
updated? Have you been overly conscious of what information is
available and what isn’t? If you’d like, copy and paste the text
