This assignment consists of two parts. You will conduct a detailed case analysis for one case study from the eTextbook and one case study in which you must conduct your own research. Each involves researching the company, identifying a problem or challenge, and making recommendations.
You must combine both the Part I and Part II case studies in a single document to upload in Blackboard for grading. Ensure you organize your paper using headings and subheadings to clearly distinguish each part. Use a single title page and combine all references cited at the end of the paper in a single references page.
Part I: McDonald’s Corporation
McDonald’s Corporation is the world’s largest fast-food restaurant chain. Using the internet and the CSU Online Library, conduct your own research and address the following using an in-depth analysis, in a minimum of two pages, but no more than three pages:
Evaluate the quality of the corporation in terms of management, the board of directors, and shareholder activism.
Assess their social responsibility and sustainability programs.
Explain if what you discovered in your research is representative of effective or ineffective corporate governance. Defend your conclusions.
Part II: Case 32: Apple Inc.: Where’s The Next Innovation?
This assignment utilizes a case depicting a real-life situation for which you will conduct a detailed case analysis. This will involve reading the provided case, researching the company, identifying a problem/challenge, and making recommendations.
Read Case Study 32, “Apple Inc.: Where’s The Next Innovation?” Address each of the questions below using an in-depth analysis, in a minimum of two but no more than three pages.
How does Apple use strategic management to compete?
What is leadership’s role in Apple’s strategic implementation?
What are key forces in the general and industry environments that affect Apple’s choice of strategy?
What internal resources and assets does Apple have that may give it a competitive advantage? How does Apple use those assets to craft strategy?
Combined, parts I and II should be at least four, but no more than six pages in length. The title and reference pages do not count toward this requirement.
Organize your paper using section headings and subheadings that align with the assignment requirements. Adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are used. Please note that no abstract is needed.
Writing in a professional and objective voice is important. Write objectively from the third-person point of view. Avoid writing in the first-person voice (e.g., I and we) and second-person voice (e.g., you and your).
Academic work should always be supported with credible sources. You must use the eTextbook and at least two additional credible sources to support your analysis.
