I wanted to give everyone some information about the research paper that is due Apr. 28.
First, the research paper must be on a topic related to ethics; the topic can be one that’s either in your textbook or covered in the reading assignments. Also, the paper must have a main thesis statement (a statement that informs me of what you intend to prove in your paper).
Specifics
Must be 6-8 pages; 12-point font, Times New Roman; double spaced; Word doc
Must have title page and bibliography (which are not included in the 6-8 page requirement)
Must have at least 5 sources (the sources need to be cited in the text (don’t forget page numbers!))
Style: Use APA style for citations (in-text parenthetical documentation).
Note: An abstract is not required
Note: The bibliography does not need to be annotated
Type of sources: I ONLY accept books (including ebooks) or journal articles as sources. The journal articles need to be published from peer-reviewed (Scholarly) journals, NOT NEWSPAPERS, WEBSITES, MAGAZINES, NOTES, etc
Submission: Submit the paper on Blackboard under ‘Weekly Lessons’, then ‘Research Paper’.
Second, I’ve added a couple documents to BB that should benefit you in preparing and writing your research paper. One of the documents elaborates on how to actually construct a ‘thesis statement’, while the other specifies how to structure a research paper. I highly encourage each of you to look over both documents as they should help the paper-writing-process to be much less painful! You can access each document in ‘Writing Aid Documents’ under the ‘Weekly Lessons’ tab on the left of the screen.
