Read the “Are Six Heads Better than One?
” Case and answer the following questions in preparation for our next Sync session. You will apply what you learned about Teamwork Composition and Processes and use some of the Decision Making tools you have already learned about. Deliverable:
Use the PowerPoint Template within the Teamwork Discussion Preparation Assignment to prepare for our discussion.
There are 3 questions on this assignment that you will answer in the template:
1. Use the Framework for Teamwork Performance Evaluation to assess the performance of the team in the Case. First, consider the desired Outcomes, and then identify the performance on the various factors in Teamwork Composition and Teamwork Processes. There is no need to provide justifications for your ratings, but you should have it justified in your mind for the discussion at the Sync session.
2. Perform and show a “Root Cause Analysis” on the factor that was scored low and had the greatest impact on the team’s problems. If appropriate, feel free to do more than one.
3. Consider the 8 steps in the Rational Decision Making Process. Identify at least two of the steps that had the most impact and could have been better executed by the team to come up with a better recommendation to the Commissioners? Provide a short justification for your answers.
4. Identify and define the 5 most relevant and important criteria, or objectives that could be used to evaluate alternatives for this situation.
