Assessment Task Description: 
The Research Project should present a response to your Research Questions. This response should consist of academic research, and it may also include field research or design concepts. As such, your project can take one of several different forms: a Research Essay, or a Case Study, or the development of a Design Concept and Exegesis. In each case you will be exploring your chosen methodology and its possible application.
The project should draw upon 6-10 relevant academic texts. All research materials should be correctly referenced using Chicago in-text citations and a full bibliography. Where you discuss design examples, field research, or your own design concepts, you should provide documentation of these items. Development of the research and the possible approaches will be discussed in workshops in our latter seminars.
Constructive Alignment of Task & Learning Outcomes:
1. Demonstrate that you have identified a conceptual framework for the research;
2. Argue the logic of your research process;
3. Situate the relevance of your research within a contemporary context;
4. Engage with both your own practices and those of others in a critical manner that informs your work and demonstrates an awareness of the wider field;
5. Demonstrate that you have translated an aspect of your enquiry into a relevant form of scholarship to the field of research (eg; academic essay).
6. Demonstrate that you are equipped to sustain an exegetical elaboration of your research.

Generative AI tools cannot be used in this assessment task
In this assessment, you must not use generative artificial intelligence (AI) to generate any materials or content in relation to the assessment task. The assessment task requires students to demonstrate human knowledge and skill acquisition without the assistance of AI.
Extensions of time due to circumstances:
Extensions will be treated as standard.
Marking Criteria:
This project is assessed in regards to the demonstration of relevant research; the structure of the essay in terms of articulating a response to the Research Questions; demonstration of critical reflection in relation to the topic, quality of written expression and accuracy of referencing & bibliography.
