As an introduction to the course, you are invited to watch Haiti and the Dominican Republic: An Island Divided, a full episode of the PBS documentary series Black in Latin America. In addition, you are required to submit a doubled-spaced 2 page reflection paper in the appropriate folder which can be found in Assignments.
Your reflection can be as simple as answering the simple question: Do you believe that many Dominicans deny the African components of their DNA, culture and history?
