The assignments in this course culminate in a final assignment that gives you an opportunity to demonstrate doctoral-level critical thinking, analysis, and synthesis of ideas. As a first step, select a topic related to a leadership challenge experienced by leaders of organizations or agencies that serve families. The challenge could be related to things such as diversity, equity, and inclusion; legal and ethical challenges; or some other challenge related to families. Compare and contrast three leadership models relevant to your current or future field. It is suggested that you pick three models that closely resemble your leadership style or preference.
You are encouraged to explore a topic related to your own research interests (e.g., a thesis or dissertation topic). However, your topic must be focused on issues related to leadership in the professional world in which serving families is the purpose.
Identify a specific population affected by the challenge you selected. The challenge and population you select will be the focus of the research literature you analyze in this course.
Use the Capella library to find at least 5 scholarly, peer-reviewed resources that support your topic and/or selected population. You will use these resources for all the assignments in this course.
