Students are required to find a piece of news media (article/video) about ethnic studies: Asian Americans, African Americans, Chicano/Latinx and Native Americans, which you will then analyze. Search for any articles that include ethnic studies, racism, discrimination, etc. which you will then analyze. Your analysis should specifically point to the ways course themes and materials offer a particular context as how to critically approach your piece of news media. Consider the following questions when completing this assignment: how does your news piece expose how broader structures of power are functioning?
