You must choose a topic then choose a side (PRO OR CON) or (FOR OR AGAINST). You must prepare a 9 minute and 30 second to 10 minute and 30 second presentation stating and explaining the position you have taken on your topic.  Topics should be chosen in one of these categories:
1. Social Issues–Examples: Capital punishment, immigration, abortion
2. Health Issues–Examples: Substance abuse/treatments, obesity, fast food
3. Sports Issues–Examples: Arguments about greatest players, greatest teams, greatest sports, professional vs. amateur
4. Governmental Issues–Examples: Government should do this, governmental regulation, government size
5. Product Issues–Examples: Product safety issues, product cost issues, product availability issues
You must prepare an outline for this speech. You must cite your sources using APA format on your citation page. You must have at least 5 sources of information. Please use the example below to construct your references.
Use only library sources (books, magazines, newspapers, journals, e-books, GALILEO, EBSCOhost, ProQuest, Films on Demand, etc.). How to access the college’s database: go to centralgatech.edu → Academics → Academic Resources → Library → Library Resources →select a database.  I highly recommend using NewsBank as a good database offered through CGTC’s library.  In addition, you can use procon.org for your sources.
*Failure to use one of Central Georgia Technical College’s library databases or ProCon.org for your support will result in an automatic 10-point deduction. *
Please submit them in APA format as in this example:
Single Author
Last name first, followed by author initials.
Ahmed, S. (2012). On being included: Racism and diversity in institutional life. Duke University Press.
Two Authors
List by their last names and initials. Separate author names with a comma. Use the ampersand instead of “and.”
Soto, C. J., & John, O. P. (2017). The next big five inventory (BFI-2): Developing and assessing a
hierarchical model with 15 facets to enhance bandwidth, fidelity, and predictive power. Journal  of Personality and Social Psychology, 113(1), 117-143. http://dx.doi.org/10.1037/pspp0000096.
Three to Twenty authors
List by last names and initials; commas separate author names, while the last author name is preceded again by ampersand. This is a departure from APA 6, which only required listing the first six authors before an ellipsis and the final author’s name.
Nguyen, T., Carnevale, J. J., Scholer, A. A., Miele, D. B., & Fujita, K. (2019). Metamotivational knowledge
