Part I – View the Video lecture in the weekly folder as a refresher for the Site Visit assignment, BEFORE completing this week’s assignment.
Part II – This week you will submit your second and final reflection paper based on your Site Visit to a potential internship site. This should be a different agency/organization from the one your presented in your first Site Visit assignment.
This agency must be one that provides direct human services care to a population within your community. They must be able to afford the opportunity to learn the entry level skills of a human services professional. These services can include, but are not limited to, community follow-up, initial intake and assessment, case management, client referrals, and direct counseling services.
On your visit, you should gather the following information on the agency in preparation of writing your reflection paper:
Agency name
Brief history/background on the agency
Organizational chart information
Mission and vision statements
Population it services
Type of services provided to the clients
Potential student intern responsibilities
Your overall impression of the organization/agency based on the information you were able to obtain.
What, if any, challenges would there be to overcome if you were provided an internship opportunity at this agency/organization? (For example – cultural challenges, location, population served etc.)
Include in your paper a discussion of what, if any challenges, you faced completing this assignment (For example, engaging with a representative of the organization or after finding out information about the agency/organization remaining interested and eager to complete an internship there etc.)
