45 year old obese male patient presents to office with a sharp pain just lateral to the groin area or anterior thigh area. Patient reports this has gotten worse over several week. He has difficulty putting weight on right leg (side of pain) and finds it difficult to get up from his chair. He denies any benefit from hot or cold application to the area. He denies any time of day/night when it is better or worse, but rest does help some.
