Prompt: Explore a theme in one of the plays. (I chose free will vs. prophecy in Oedipus the King.) The research paper is an argumentative paper with support from other writers. In other words, you will express your opinion, and then defend that idea by quoting, paraphrasing, and/or summarizing the literary work you’ve chosen to write about (primary source) and the work of scholars who have written about the same works and whose opinions match, complement, or contrast with your own (secondary sources).
My stance: Choices made by our own free will have their own prophecy. Each choice comes with its own ending, however I don’t think there’s an overarching storyline that lays out all the choices we are bound to make. Every choice comes with its own path/consequences.
