You are welcome to use initials, like this: “My participant, S. A., is a 12 year old girl who lives with both of her parents and an older brother.” You could also use a nickname, like this: “My participant, who I will reference as Jane to protect her identity, is a 12 year old girl. Jane lives with her mother and a younger sister.”
Please read your instructions carefully.
