You will create an infographic that explores your academic and/or professional goals and articulates how a liberal arts education can help you achieve them. Specifically, your infographic must include the following:
Title that communicates what your infographic is about
Brief introduction to yourself (only what is relevant to your content)
At least 3 academic and/or professional goals
At least 2 data visualizations of supporting evidence for why a Hamline University liberal arts degree will help you achieve your goals (see these resourcesLinks to an external site. for data or find other credible sources)
At least 1 other visual (image, graphic, icons) that provides/adds to your content (i.e., isn’t just filler)

In order to create a professional looking infographic, it’s important that you consider its design. Remember from your reading “What Is Document Design? Download What Is Document Design?” that document design is also information design (pp. 2-3), meaning the visual aspects of your infographic, such as color, fonts, and the overall layout, will impact how your audience navigates and understands it (see p. 7 for more details). Canva has lots of free colors and color palettes as well as fonts. Be creative and try different approaches. This is your chance to practice!
Submitting Your Infographic
You will need to upload your infographic as a PDF (see these instructionsLinks to an external site. for how to save and download your design as a PDF in Canva). This assignment will only allow you to upload PDFs so this is very important!
NOTE: Your infographic will be assessed on having a cohesive, convincing presentation and professional appearance.
