Students are asked to write a journalistic style op-ed on a piece of media of their choosing applying queer theory. Pieces of media can include songs, music videos, movies, books, podcasts or visual art. The article should be 2-3 pages double spaced. The article needs to use at least 3 course readings. Students may use any materials from class including lectures, videos and other media. However, lectures do not count towards the required number of readings. To guide you writing article think of the following questions:
Is this media piece a good example of queer theory put into practice? Or is it representative of what queer theory critiques?
What concepts are shown in the media piece? (eg. heteronormativity, homonormativity, queer joy)
