Global Cultural and Creative Industries theory and policy analysis
Objective: To analyse and evaluate key theories and concepts in the Cultural and Creative Industries
(CCI) combined with a policy case analysis.
Instructions:
In this assessment, you must write an essay on Global Creative and Cultural Industries theory and
apply the theory to an example of policy extracted from reality. You are required to select one theory
or concept from CCI and critically analyse it, observing a policy that exists. The referred policy can be
located in any country and in any of the CCIs (Advertising, Architecture, Arts and Antiques; Crafts; Design;
Fashion; Film and Video production; Interactive media and games; Literature, publishing and print
media; Music; Performing arts, such as theatre, dance and opera; Photography; Television and Radio
broadcasting; Visual arts, such as painting and sculpture; Digital Content and Services, including epublishing, mobile apps, web design and social media; Heritage, including museums, archives and
libraries.
Some recommendations:
a) provide a clear definition of the theory or concept you have chosen
and its relevance to the field of CCIs; b) provide a critical evaluation of the strengths and limitations of
the theory or concept: c) provide real-world examples and case studies to support your analysis; d) draw
on a minimum of five different academic sources to support your analysis; e) the essay should be well-

structured and written clearly and concisely; f) Your essay must be appropriately referenced and
