Far from being simply “busy work,” the annotated bibliography is a research tool to help you synthesize the information you are researching and identify where this research fits into your project in the future. This will also help you sort through the sources you are using to help your research become more targeted. The assignment takes the form of a conventional Works Cited page, but is then annotated (notes are made) with some helpful information. For each bibliographic entry, you will identify the scholarly conversation that the composition engages, the main thesis of the essay, and the way in which you plan on using the source. For this assignment, you will annotate 6-8 sources, half of which need to be scholarly, and needs to be at least 750 words. You will also follow MLA formatting for the assignment.
