So you are including 4-5 sources in your paper, one of which is a scholarly article that you find at the SDSU Library (or another approved source).
Introduction: 1/4 page .  Write this in a conventional format. Introduce the focus and the scope of the paper (the topic, authors, etc.).  Look at the rubric to see a more detailed description.
Body of the essay: 2-4 pages maximum.  You are either providing an account of your anchor text like your first paper; OR you are explaining the issue/theme/problem that you would like to investigate in the readings.  Are you interested in the discussions of masculinity, femininity, non-binary gender, or do you simply want to address the dependency each has on the other, the complexity of the American gender dynamic? Use at least three of our authors and one scholarly article, synthesized to clarify the issue(s) that interest you.  NOTE: This section includes two syntheses, like the first paper, or a developed discussion of your focus (theme, problem). Use our practice of synthesis that pushes the connection between texts and authors in order to clarify ideas and arguments central to the discussion. Paragraphing will play a big role here. How are you organizing this section? One paragraph is unacceptable. I can help you figure-out a strategy. The more focused your discussion, backed by specific quotes from authors, the better chance you have of clarifying parts of this complicated conversation and establishing some real meaning.  Again, focus is key, along with specific textual evidence to help your reader understand and follow your insightful discussion. I can not stress enough the importance of shorter paragraphs that will make the essay easier to read, as well as enhance the complexity and clarity of your paper. Look at the rubric for a more detailed description.
Personal Anecdote: 1-2 pages maximum.  How has gender identity affected or defined parts of your (or someone you know’s) life?  Relate the experience, written in a detailed manner, to at least 2 (TWO) of our readings from this Module. Please use quotes to clarify the insight you are making on your own experience. This can certainly connect to what you were talking about in the previous section; you may have decided to develop this focus or theme throughout your paper (masculinity, femininity, non-binary, etc.).  OR you may have a different connection to the discussion of gender identity.  Look at the rubric for a more detailed description.
Conclusion: 1/4 of a page.  Wrap-up this fascinating paper. Share the paper’s highlights and add some final thoughts.
He is very strict about the syntheses!!!
The sources that need to be included will be dropped here:)
