For this assignment, you will write a report on a topic of your choice related to a current issue in the field of healthcare. The purpose of this assignment is to describe a problem and present a solution. Therefore, this paper will combine elements of summary, synthesis, analysis, and argument. Although the solution to your problem can be your unique idea (or existing ideas from expert/s), it must be supported with reliable research sources.

To write a strong report, you will need to do the following: Conduct academic research using scholarly sources Develop a statement of purpose Synthesize support material Incorporate source material including summarizing and paraphrasing Develop focused paragraphs that include topic sentences and supporting evidence Organize your paragraphs in a logical manner Employ syntax (word placement) and usage (grammar) appropriately.
Suggestions:
Learn about your chosen issue (with background information) before you find sources
Be willing to modify your “solution” as you write and research
Give yourself adequate time to perform thorough research
Review principles of including and citing your credible sources
Avoid plagiarism and/or improper paraphrasing
Review the APA section of our textbook and/or Purdue OWL
Topics need to address a question of policy: this answers a question about whether a specific course of action should or should not be taken to effectively solve a problem
Topic needs to be “researchable” meaning that there are credible experts and information that can be found about the topic.
Topic needs to fit the assignment page limit so not too broad to be covered in a paper of this length.
Requirements for written report (100 points):
The first paragraph should include a statement of purpose that describes the problem and summarizes the solution
You should use research-based evidence, including summary and paraphrasing from your source material
You are required to use APA-style in-text citations
You should analyze your research material and explain how it supports your solution if relevant
You should incorporate at least 3 sources. At least (2) sources should be from the HTC library or library databases. All (3) sources can be though).
Direct quotations should be used sparingly or not at all. No more than 10% of the paper should be made up of direct quotes.
The tone should be formal, as if you are writing for a scholarly journal. This does not mean you need to use big words—make your points as clearly and concisely as you can.
Because the tone is formal, you should refrain from using first or second person.
Sections of the paper should be clearly labeled with headings
The essay should be free of parallelism errors, run-ons, fragments, verb errors, and other sentence-level problems related to grammar and usage.
The essay should be formatted correctly using APA format
The essay must include a References page at the end and a title page at the beginning
