Option B:
Three Heroes Walk into a Bar
Each week, I’ve asked you to think about our texts in relationship to one another, and especially to think about how the protagonists each go about their journey. But what would happen if all these hero’s (or their trusty sidekicks) met each other?
For this option, choose one character from each novel and write a conversation between them. You can imagine them all meeting at a bar or coffeeshop, something like a comicon, or even a support group for those who have survived the peril’s of the hero’s journey. Get creative! The story or script should be at least two double spaced pages, and you should include as many examples/details from the novel to explain your character’s answers/motivations. To get you started, here are some things our characters might discuss:
The role of fate or divine intervention
Battle strategies and the cost of war
Who or what they missed most about home
What they enjoyed most and/or least about their journey
The hardest choices they had to make
What they had to sacrifice on their journey
What they gained on their journey
What they want their legacy to be
What they wish people would forget about them
Who or what they couldn’t have survived without
