On topic No. 2 Filming violence – as Harjant Gill has discussed, Punjabi cultural modes are replete with a history of violence (social, state, religious, gendered, sexual, etc.) Discuss how violence has been represented in Punjabi cinema.
For an 8-page research paper with film analysis, I would suggest 8-10 sources that can be a mix of course readings, outside secondary sources that relate directly to your topic, tertiary sources (encyclopedia entries), film or public commentary such as thinkpieces, news sources, and open media sources, and primary source materials (the films themselves).
I will attach a drop box with the question, a paper outline that i have written and can be made into a 8 page final paper. Double spaced and sources in MLA format with in text citations. The paper outline should focus on how the films “Maula Jatt” (1979) to the poignant social commentary of “Anhe Ghore Da Daan” (2011), and from the heart-wrenching partition saga in “Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh” to the haunting portrayal of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in “Punjab 1984” relate to the depiction of violence in Punjabi cinema.
I will attach some readings in drop box that you can use and you can also use other scholarly articles with MLA citation.
In the drop box, i am attaching the paper outline word document. when opened in word the outline has comments on what should be changed and made better in the paper.
