Lesson 6 focuses on the study of development and Personality Psychology. In Chap

Lesson 6 focuses on the study of development and Personality Psychology. In Chapter 9, you explored the styles of attachment. Mary Main and Mary Ainsworth researched a famed methodology to measure attached called The Strange Situation Paradigm. In their work they were able to classify attachment into secure (child used parent as a safe emotional base to explore the word), avoidant (child is unresponsive to parent), resistant (child is clingy but unsure if the parent can help them), and disorganized (child seems confused or runs away from parent).
Tell a story (as usual, keep safety provisions in place and only write what you feel is safe sharing) about a time you were very young and were separated from your family home for a sleep over, the sleepover might be with a relative or with a friend, it could be a time you went to sleep away camp. How did it go? Did you jump in the car and go to a friend’s house and just start to play? Or did you cry and call to be picked up after half an hour? Then, rate your level of attachment according to the Ainsworth and Main scale. Were you feeling secure or avoidant? Resistant or disorganized? Explain how so.
