ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
This assignment is related to the textbook chapters on the following components of literacy:
comprehension, spelling, and writing. You will complete a series of activities for each of the
three literacy components. You will combine all of the activities together in one Word document
organized by chapter. You will create one title page and one reference page for the entire
document. Current APA format should be used throughout the document. Please use the outline
below to complete this project.
Title Page
Section Header: Comprehension
Please include the following in this section.
o A concept map or outline of the chapter [Note: There are two chapters in the
textbook about this topic. Your concept map should include both] (minimum 7
main points)
o A summary of 1 scholarly journal article (published in the last five years) related
to the literacy component (minimum 300 words)
o A critique of the YouTube video provided for the literacy component. Please
include both strengths and limitations (minimum 200 words).
o A reflection of what you have learned about the literacy component from the
chapter, the journal article, and the video. Also include a response to each of the
following questions below (minimum 250 words).
