For the Final Project, you are responsible for planning an entire virtual event. The event is a product launch. You are responsible for planning the launch of a new app that will revolutionize the Digital Marketing world. The product, for the sake of the project, will be called DM-Connect. You need to plan for a virtual event platform that will accommodate up to 2,000 people, connecting from different parts of the world. What do you need to do?
1. Determine the goals of the event and explain them in detail. You can use bullet points for this, but please be detailed. (the “why”).
2. Explain the advantages and disadvantages of using a virtual platform for the launch of the product.
3. Develop a detailed communications strategy, including PR and a social media campaign. In this, please include a schedule of posts based on the fact that you have 6 months before the event. Include examples of posts for each of the following social channels: LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube. Please remember that the target of this is Marketing professionals. (for this portion, please use a calendar for  the timing of the posts and the messaging at each stage. Additionally, include the purpose and rationale behind the use of the platforms mentioned above. Remember the importance of understanding well your target market and based on that choose how you communicate with your target audience).
4. Investigate, explore and select the virtual meeting platform that is going to be used for this event. Explain your reason for choosing this platform.
5. Provide an outline for the day of the event. This event should be between 45 minutes to 90 minutes, during which there is an opening, presentation of how “we got to this product”, the product itself and the solutions it will bring. You can provide time for Q & A. Please be very detailed with the outline. We have discussed extensively how important it is to have as many details as possible to have a flawless event. Don’t forget to keep in mind that you have people from different parts of the world.
6. Conclude the project by providing an strategy of what will be done after the event, to say thank you and to survey the attendees for feedback and measure ROI, based on the goals established for this event (“why”). Make sure you consider all the reasons for the follow up and all the potential opportunities you create in the case of a product launch. Always go back to the “why” and the “who”, and remember that accomplishing the results expected are based on the goals and objectives set up for the event.
