Course Syllabus Description: Your task for this assignment is to identify a Kine

Course Syllabus Description: Your task for this assignment is to identify a Kinesiology-related topic with which you will conduct a literature search using appropriate databases, and acquire three relevant peer-reviewed articles that address your research question. From these, you will prepare an APA-formatted annotated reference list.
Assignment Rationale: Using and reading Kinesiology research is important for two reasons: (1) It will be your responsibility, as a professional, to correctly educate or inform the public, to answer questions related to the validity of popular claims, or to put into practice current research or practical information in your field; and (2) several assignments in subsequent Kinesiology courses will include using or reviewing research in the many Kinesiology sub-disciplines. This assignment will provide you with an opportunity to choose a topic of interest, search databases through Pollack Library for related research, and synthesize the sources into a proper annotated APA reference list.
Choosing a Topic: For this assignment, choose a topic that is interesting to you such that you would enjoy spending considerable time researching and reading about it. It also must be related to any of the Kinesiology subdisciplines.
An example of what the assignment will look like is below. Please follow this exactly!
FORMAT: Your paper will be typed in Times New Roman, 12 pt. font. You will have your name followed by the meeting days of your KNES 202 class (M/W or T/TH) on the top right of the page. You will a line for your research topic (labeled in bold as in the picture above) followed by your short research topic, followed by your research question (labeled in bold as in the picture above) followed by your research question, written as a complete sentence concluding in a question mark. You will skip a line and type the word References in bold font, centered, followed by the three complete APA article citations. Finally, you will include a short paragraph for each article starting with the phrase “I chose article number ____ because…” Each paragraph will be single space, with an extra space between paragraphs, as in the picture above.
CONTENT:
Research Topic and Research Question: Your research topic is a short (2-3ish word) phrase, while your research topic is a very narrowed, specific aspect of that research topic. The research question will be typed out as a complete sentence, concluding in a question mark.
Reference List/Articles: You need to find three difference peer-reviewed journal articles related to your research topic and specific questions. The articles must be scholarly, journal articles within the last 15 years (oldest article cannot be older than 2006).
The reference list should be in APA format, Times New Roman 12 pt. font: Type the word References in bold print centered on the page below the research topic and question reference list with be alphabetized by the last name of the first author listed on the article each entry starts out flush with the left margin, with each subsequent line of the citation indented 5 spaces
See the example APA reference format below (on page two of this document) as well as https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/reference_list_articles_in_periodicals.html
Annotations of each reference: At the bottom of the reference list (following the entire list of references), you will provide a short paragraph (3-5 sentences) describing how the article helps to answer your specific research question. If you were to write a research paper on your research topic and question, why would you include this article? This is not an article summary per se, but you would include specific findings from the study to provide a rationale for using that article.
Grading Criteria (50 pts.):
Research Topic and Question (10 points): Research topic is relevant for Kinesiology; research question is specific and focused.
Content (15 points): Extent to which the three articles you found relate to your research question and to each of the other articles
References (15 points): Correct APA reference format with all necessary information included
