1. State in your own words the hypothesis that respiratory therapist training length in a new technique significantly improves self-reported patient satisfaction with the treatment (Group) and with patient general health (Factor). In other words, what is the effect of RT training length (Group) and patient general health (Factor) in self-reported satisfaction?
The F test or One way ANOVA is testing whether group 1 is significantly different from group 2 and group 3 and that group 2 is different from group 3 (all possible combinations of three). Group 1 are scores on self-reported respiratory therapist satisfaction level after 3 days in a therapist training in a new technique, Group 2 scores are after 3 weeks of training. Group 3 are after 3 months of training. 10 is the highest score and 1 the lowest. Since it is an ANOVA, we can test more than one dependent variable so Factor 1 is poor general health of patient, Factor 2 is medium general health and Factor 3 is good general health.
2. Compute in SPSS and report the M and SD for each of the three groups and the F value and df for group 1 versus 2, 1 versus 3, and 2 versus 3 and for the three levels of Factor.
