Now that we have reviewed the research literature and developed a research question or statement, it is time to complete the third major part of the proposal – the methodology. *This section is typically 1 – 2 pages, but requires much thought and detail! The strength of the proposal is dependent on the strength of the methodology. Submit it for this assignment, receive feedback and then submit it as part of the final proposal.
*If you are considering doing a qualitative content analysis, keep in mind that a review of the research literature is not content analysis. Content analysis is the analysis of a body of material (newspapers, magazines, diaries, historical records, videos, etc). Content analysis is a very appropriate qualitative methodology, but for our purpose in this course, a literature review is not (we have already done that). This distinction has confused some students in the past, so just let me know if you need further clarification.
