As you work through this final unit, you will extend your community profile by locating, critiquing, and weaving in at least three secondary sources into the analysis you have written of a public online community (the social media presence of a fandom, a Subreddit, a Discord server, a Twitter/X community, an online club, a social trend or hashtag, etc.) These sources should speak to your larger point to expand and support the argument you have already built.
You will want to work very closely with these secondary sources, moving between your voice and other writers’ to show what you have learned about your community as you navigate the research process. You will ICE quotations and paraphrases as well as summarizing your sources. This source work should appear throughout your revised paper.
These are things I will be looking for as I read your community analysis:

1. Orienting your Readers
Title
Is there a title that speaks to the subject and theme of this paper?
Introduction
Do you catch your readers’ attention in your introduction?
Do you give them some idea of what this community analysis will be about or argue?
Do you include a strong thesis that underscores the argument you are making about this community?
Structure
Do you use subheadings to organize this study?
Do you arrange your paragraphs around a main idea or point? Are they organized in a logical manner?
Do you use paragraph breaks to lead your readers through your text?
Do you include strong topic sentences that announce your main idea in each paragraph? 
Do you use a complex structure here that underscores your larger point(s)?
Conclusion
Is your conclusion developed? Does it provide some finality to your community analysis?
Does your conclusion do more than restate your introduction?
Does deliver a clear “now what”? 
2. Moving Between Specifics and Generalizations
Concrete Details
Are there specific examples that help support the points you make?
Do you use other sources in persuasive and sophisticated ways to show that you have a rich sense of what has been said before about this topic?
Do you summarize, quote, and paraphrase secondary sources? 
Generalized Reflective Comments
Do you comment on the evidence you bring into this paper and tell your readers why they are important and what they show about your topic?
Do you lead readers to broader, more generalized points as you move through this paper?
Do you answer the implicit “so what”?
3. Finishing Touches

Have you polished this paper before handing it in?
Do grammatical, or surface-level features, affect the readability of this text?
