About this project
For this project, you will create a digital painting that responds to two works of art – one digital work from the 1990s or later and one from the 1960s or earlier.
These two original artworks will act as inspiration for the final project but should not be copied into your project.
Focus only on two works of art in your research blog posts. You will collect information about the artists, analyse at the techniques, colour, composition, methods of production & other elements of the referenced works in your first blog post as you set out to create your own project.
Demonstrate all of the techniques covered in this class by using a combination of found objects, original drawings, photographs and paintings that you will create. This composition that must include at least 5 or more of the following different types of media (20 images minimum):
original digital photographs you have taken
found & photographed or scanned digital objects
scanned objects such as magazines, flyers or newspaper clippings
stills from videos you have taken
found & scanned/photographed type/text
original drawings (digital or physical)
original paintings (digital or physical)
other media may be used but discuss this with your instructor
The final work will be 1 JPEG image with a resolution of 3840 pixels x 2160 pixels. You will need to demonstrate different techniques and it is important to document these in the 30 screenshots you are required to submit. This will document the development of your work in Adobe Photoshop accompanied by research for the project and a 500 to 1000 word reflection highlighting areas where your project succeeded, areas of improvement and potential future developments.
