Use your learnings from the textbook and notes in this module to reflect on the relationship between independent & dependent variables and pre-testing and post-testing in experiments. Then, PICK ONE PAIR that you’d like to provide your own example of – either the independent variable & dependent variable pair OR the pre-test & post-test pair. For the independent variable & dependent variable, briefly describe a research scenario and define what your IV and DV are. For the pre-test & post-test pair, make up your own experiment and describe what concept or hypothesis you will be pre- and post- testing.
INDEPENDENT VARIABLE & DEPENDENT VARIABLE EXAMPLE: Your research scenario is the correlation between hours spent studying and grades. Your independent variable is hours spent studying and your dependent variable is grades.
PRE-TEST & POST-TEST EXAMPLE: You may want to test the impact of a course for drivers whose license have been suspended due to too many traffic violations. You will pre-test their knowledge of traffic laws, road signs, and defensive driving techniques. Then once they complete the course you will post-test their knowledge of the same subject areas to determine if there is an increase in scores and long-term if there is decrease in traffic tickets.

Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome (PTSS) is an inter-generational psychological legacy of slavery. It is a psychological condition that was born out of the pervasive, perpetual and intergenerational trauma that African people endured due to the maafa (historical chattel slavery and contemporary oppression).
